As you know (and hear from us constantly) cyber-attacks are at an all-time high. It’s tough, even for educated users, to keep up with all the threats out there. These threats come from multiple angles and it’s important for people to be on top of these threats. Here is where things get even scarier.
Currently there is a shortage of cybersecurity professionals working in the world. This is a key risk not only to consumers but to institutions across the globe. Banking, transportation, energy, healthcare and yes, politics are all in the crosshairs. With the cyber-landscape expanding more and more every day it becomes crucial to have more people safeguarding this resource.
The National Cybersecurity Alliance is celebrating its 15th anniversary and this week (October 8-12) wants to bring the focus to educating the next generation of Cybersecurity Professionals. “Raising the next generation of interested and capable cybersecurity professionals is a starting point to building stronger defenses”.
Here is a link to a great infographic that The National Cybersecurity Alliance has created to give more in-depth information about the millions of rewarding jobs that are available in cybersecurity. It also highlights the types of people who would be qualified to work in this field and gives resources for future cybersecurity professionals. SecurityCoverage fully supports this initiative and is consistently looking to hire individuals interested in a career in cybersecurity. We will be sharing a number of social media posts and other resources over this week to help with the initiative to inspire students, young professionals, veterans and anyone else who may be interested in careers in cybersecurity. Please be on the lookout and feel free to share these resources and posts with your social media followers.
